The Texas Election Code grants both political parties additional liberties on election day of the Primary. Historically, we have let Travis County dictate the terms of the election day contract. This year, a small group of Republican precinct chairs negotiated new terms. They include:
Hand count mail in ballots
Republican controlled early vote signature verification
Report of ballot style per registered voter
Report of Results by voting center with County Comparison report
DS200 Configuration reports with number of Voters.
These are “contract wins” and will give us more transparency into this year’s Primary. The hand counting will take many volunteers. Please consider volunteering yourself, your friends and your family members.
