On July 4, 2026, we marked 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence—a moment that changed history and gave birth to a nation founded on liberty, opportunity, and individual freedom.
This once-in-a-generation celebration is an opportunity to reflect on our past, honor those who came before us, and recommit ourselves to preserving the blessings of freedom for future generations.
Through local events, shared experiences, and acts of service, every American can take part in commemorating America 250

We the People Lake Travis has been helping facilitate a Lake Travis High School Club America, Turning Point USA chapter (Grades 9-12).
The response has been amazing and we look forward to a strong group of young leaders who will carry on Charlie’s legacy!

About We the People – Lake Travis…
We the People | Lake Travis is a grassroots organization dedicated to civic engagement, constitutional education, community involvement, and preserving the principles and values on which our nation was founded.
For years, we have worked with residents throughout the Lake Travis area to organize educational programs, community events, fundraisers, voter-education efforts, and opportunities for citizens to become more involved in their communities.
Building an Active Community
Over the years, We the People | Lake Travis has hosted and supported numerous events and initiatives throughout the Lake Travis area.
The photos below highlight just a few of the people, events, and campaigns that have been part of our journey.
Today, our local civic community continues to grow. True Texas Project Hill Country holds monthly meetings in Spicewood, the Lake Travis Republican Club hosts regular luncheons and speakers, and We the People | Hill Country continues to organize educational, patriotic, and community events.
We are encouraged by the growing number of residents who want to stay informed, get involved, and make a difference in their communities.
Standing Up for Parents and Children
A significant part of our work has focused on parental involvement in education and the well-being of children.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, We the People | Lake Travis became involved in local discussions surrounding school closures, remote learning, and masking policies. Since then, we have continued to raise concerns about age-appropriate materials, curriculum content, and school policies involving gender identity and pronoun use.
Our position has consistently been that parents should have a meaningful voice in decisions affecting their children.
Civic Engagement & Elections
We the People | Lake Travis encourages citizens to understand the Constitution, participate in their communities, and stay informed about the political process.
Our civic and election-related efforts have included voter registration, candidate forums, election information, community outreach, and opportunities for citizens to become more engaged in local, state, and national elections.
Looking Ahead
It has been a remarkable journey, and we are grateful to the residents, volunteers, parents, and community members who have supported We the People | Lake Travis over the years.
Our work continues. We will continue creating opportunities for people throughout the Lake Travis area to learn, participate, and exercise their rights as citizens.
