The Refuge is a long-term, residential, therapeutic community on 50 acres outside of Austin for girls ages 14 through 19 who have been recovered from sex traffickers. The Refuge Ranch provides trauma-informed, holistic on-site care for the girls. https://therefugedmst.org/the-refuge-ranch

Speaker: Ellen Troxclair, Texas House Representative (TX219)
Ellen Troxclair is an American small business owner who was elected as a member of the Texas House of Representatives for District 19 in 2022 where she is a member of the Homeland Security and Public Safety Committees. She is a former member of the Austin City Council and was the youngest woman ever elected to the Austin City Council. She served on the Council from 2014 until 2018. Ellen is also the author of the book, Step Up! How to Advocate Like A Woman.
