LTC (Ret) Peter Chambers is a patriot with a slew of titles including Green Beret\, SWAT physician\, Spec Ops flight surgeon\, expert witness\, DOD whistleblower\, and much more. After serving this country in a career spanning 39 years\, he now spends his time and energy advocating for the freedom and sovereignty that this country was founded upon. Come and be inspired to take action by this man’s story and passion!  \nAbout LTC (Ret) Pete Chambers:\nLIEUTENANT COLONEL PETER CONSTANTINE CHAMBERS\, D.O.\nU.S. ARMY SPECIAL FORCES (RET.) \nLTC Pete Chambers joined the army in 1983 and served for a career spanning 39 years. After his first Honorable Discharge he had a break in service to complete college and medical school at the University of New England. He completed a primary care residency and worked as an emergency room physician and was commissioned as a peace officer serving his community as a SWAT team physician and sheriff’s deputy. After the United States was attacked on 9/11\, he returned to the US Army Special Forces. \nHe is a graduate of the Special Forces Qualification Course\, earning the Green Beret. He has multiple combat tours\, deploying in the capacity of Special Operations Flight Surgeon and Green Beret Commander conducting foreign internal defense missions around the globe. His last two Stateside deployments in Texas were as a liaison to Governor Gregg Abbott’s TASK FORCE during the Texas COVID response (2020) and deployed to the border of South Texas on Operation Lone Star as a Task Force Surgeon. (2021). He has been awarded the Purple Heart\, the Bronze Star Medal\, the Meritorious Service Medal\, and the Combat Medical Badge. \nUntil recently he had remained off the media grid\, until he was revealed by Senator Ron Johnson as a “whistleblower” exposing facts related to the Defense Medical Epidemiology Database. He then joined forces with other frontline doctors to provide fidelity on safety issues regarding both civilian and military aviation safety. He testified as a fact witness in Liberty Counsel’s SEALs v. DoD case and has traveled the nation speaking on medical freedom and National Defense issues. In 2023 he stood up The Republic of Texas’\, Remnant A-Team\, a ministry with focus on community service\, border issues and the State of Texas’ security issues with a heavy emphasis on the human toll. His team has advised local and state law enforcement and community groups to strengthen ties and resolve to organize effective community response to any disaster\, natural or manmade.

DESCRIPTION:In preparation for another hot summer through a persistent drought\, Lakeway MUD will host a watering restrictions update planning meeting for the public on Tuesday\, March 26 and Thursday\, April 4\, 2024 from 7 – 8 p.m. at the Lakeway Activity Center located at 105 Cross Creek. This will be a chance for the public and LMUD customers to get an update on current and future water use restrictions. After a brief presentation\, attendees will be offered an opportunity to ask questions and give feedback before final decisions are made on the new Drought Contingency Plan. These meetings will not be recorded so we encourage you to attend. Seating is limited. The same information will be presented at both meetings. \nThe biggest change in the Plan will be moving to a restriction of no automatic irrigation at a combined storage level (lake levels of Lakes Buchanan and Lake Travis\, the two water supply reservoirs in the Highland Lakes system) of 750\,000 acre-feet; the current Plan accounts for this change at 600\,000 acre-feet. The current combined storage level\, according to LCRA’s River Operations Report\, is at about 848\,000 acre-feet (Buchannan at 47% full and Lake Travis at 39% full). Assuming an insignificant amount of rainfall in the right areas between now and this summer\, with an increase in evaporation (this past summer’s highest user) and an increase in irrigation\, we anticipate reaching the new trigger level and implementing no automatic irrigation restrictions by late summer. \nLMUD customers have been under 1-day per week irrigation restrictions\, on an assigned day\, since September 1\, 2022 while some of the other local water utilities only recently moved to this restriction for their service area. One of the goals with the new drought plan update is to have all local water providers implement the same\, or similar\, irrigation restrictions to minimize confusion and help slow down the rate of decreasing lake levels. Plan updates are required to include compliance with the LCRA Board of Directors’ decision to amendment their Drought Contingency Plan requiring limiting irrigation of ornamental landscapes to no more than once per week when the combined storage of lakes Buchanan and Travis drops below 900\,000 acre-feet. \nOn average\, the EPA estimates 30 – 60% of residential water is used to irrigate lawns. While local water utilities are separate from the City of Lakeway\, City government has recognized the need to make policy changes that accommodate a cultural change towards minimizing the percent of non-functional grass that makes up traditional landscaping at homes in our area. Last year\, Lakeway City Council approved several ordinances related to building and development services\, including  the use of integrated water management\, described as “an integrated approach to managing water which includes landscaping with preferred plants\, the green infrastructure approach to rainwater capture and management\, and greywater systems.” LCRA has also begun plans to include the removal of turf grass to their rebate offerings\, which are available to LMUD customers. Since the evaporation from pools is also a large cause for water waste in our area\, pool covers will also be required. LCRA already offers pool cover rebates. (see resources below) \nA summary of the Plan updates can be found below. Current enforcement of these restrictions is focused on accounts suspected of irrigating more than once per week. As lake levels decrease and we get closer to summer\, LMUD customers can expect an increase in enforcement of all water use restrictions as well as an increase in penalty fees (a change from $200 to $500 for first offenses and $500 to $1\,000 for second offenses). We encourage LMUD customers to utilize their WaterSmart portal to stay aware of their household water use (see resources below for details)\, ensure our customer service team has your updated contact information on file for notifications\, and routinely check that their automatic irrigation system is operating as efficiently as possible while considering plans for a more water-wise landscaping option.

COME SUPPORT INNOCENT CHILDREN\, SB TRUSTEES\, PARENTS AND CITIZENS TONIGHT!! \nIn December\, the first 3 LTISD book challenges made it to the fourth and final level at the school board meeting.  The parent had been denied relief at all levels within the district administration.  The administration and the parent made a presentation to the Board.  The Board granted the parents’ requested relief in a 5:2 vote with the two Democrat Trustees voting against the parent.  Those same Democrat Trustees MUST be defeated in May. \nAt this week’s school board meeting on Wednesday March 20th\, that same amazing and brave parent and the administration will make a presentation on 2 other books urging age-appropriate placement.  Media will be there. \nPlease attend to support our 5 conservative Trustees and the protection of children as they prayerfully vote with the parent.  We will be there\, join us at 6 pm at 607 RR 620 N\, Austin\, Texas \nUnfortunately the librarians are not willing to communicate with parents and citizens\, except to say we are book banners. DESCRIPTION:Presidents’ Day\, officially Washington’s Birthday at the federal governmental level\, is a holiday in the United States celebrated on the third Monday of February. It is often celebrated to honor all those who served as presidents of the United States and\, since 1879\, has been the federal holiday honoring Founding Father George Washington\, who led the Continental Army to victory in the American Revolutionary War\, presided at the Constitutional Convention of 1787\, and was the first U.S. president.[1] \nThe day is an official state holiday in most states\, with names including Washington’s Birthday\, Presidents’ Day\, President’s Day\, Presidents Day\, and Washington’s and Lincoln’s Birthday.[2] The various states use 15 different names. Depending upon the specific law\, the state holiday may officially celebrate Washington alone\, Washington and Abraham Lincoln\, or some other combination of U.S. presidents (such as Washington and Thomas Jefferson\, who was born in April).[2] \nGeorge Washington was born on February 22\, 1732 (N.S.). Washington’s Birthday was celebrated on this date from 1879 until 1970. To give federal employees a three-day weekend\, in 1968 the Uniform Monday Holiday Act moved it to the third Monday in February.[3] The day soon became known as Presidents(‘) Day[4] (the presence and placement of the apostrophe varies) and provides an occasion to remember all the U.S. presidents\, to honor Abraham Lincoln‘s and Washington’s birthdays together\, or any single president of choice.[2] \nAs many states and cities followed suit\, some states that had been celebrating Lincoln’s birthday on February 12 combined the two into Presidents Day. Lincoln led the nation through the American Civil War\, preserved the Union\, abolished slavery\, bolstered the federal government\, and modernized the U.S. economy.
