SUMMARY:True Texas Project Hosts March Primary Candidates!
DESCRIPTION:INFORM YOUR VOTE!\nStart off the new year with True Texas Project! Come be an informed voter as we approach the primary election season.\n\nMark Goloby for Texas GovernorIn the last gubernatorial election\, we supported all three of Abbott’s challengers and used the tag line “Anyone But Abbott”. This time around\, we will be taking a similar approach\, we are hosting two challengers who have come forward. Both Mark Goloby and Doc Pete Chambers are running for the Governor’s seat in 2026\, and we believe they both have an important message to share. Come out to this months meeting and hear from Mark Goloby about his campaign and the reasons he is running!\nPerla Hopkins for TX Lieutenant GovernorPerla Hopkins is an AMERICA TEXAS FIRST CONSERVATIVE PATRIOT running to be your next Texas Lieutenant Governor. Perla serves as a speaker\, and as a volunteer policy and parental rights advocate. She’s an Air Force veteran and continued to serve our country in the role of military spouse for over 20 years. In 2010 she was presented with the Inaugural major command AETC Key Spouse of the Year Award in San Antonio.\n\nSpeaker: Mark Goloby & Perla HopkinsMonday\, January 12thGrace Outreach Family Church\, 20808 #A Hwy 71 West Spicewood\, TX 786696:00pm – Prayer gathering (open to all)6:30-8:00pm – meetingNo dues. No fees. No memberships. No RSVPs\n\nAbout Mark Goloby:Mark V. Goloby was born where many great Texans are from\, Tennessee. Mark’s family moved to Houston when he was 3 and grew up close to the Astrodome. Mark graduated from Texas A&M in 1981 with a BBA in Accounting. Mark started working in Internal Audit for Dresser Industries then worked for GTE Mobilnet (now Verizon) Texas Region as a Controller. Mark founded TC Technologies and has been pioneering wireless remote monitoring\, data applications for over 25 years. He has delivered wireless solutions in a wide variety of applications from cathodic protection on pipelines to wireless mesh networks to monitor a wide variety of wellhead production\, measurement\, and processing equipment on the well pad.\nHe has been very active on a number of issues and served on numerous association boards. Within the oil and gas industry\, Mark orchestrated a fight of local control over oil and gas operations in several small East Texas cities. The result was a complete shutdown of the initiative and retraction from these cities trying to usurp the authority of the Texas Railroad Commission. Mark was instrumental in getting Texas Independent Producer and Royalty Owners (TIPRO) to participate in the Texas State Convention. This was the first time the oil and gas industry has ever attended a state political convention.\nMark was able to get the Texas Republican Party to adopt Repeal Chapter 313 of the Texas Tax Code into the 2018 Texas Republican Platform. A similar plank was put in the Democrat Platform. Mark championed ending the 313 abatements for over 5 years. This effort culminated in the Texas Senate allowing 313 to expire in this regular 87th Legislative Session. Mark has been Chairman of the East Texas Energy Symposium for 11 years. The symposium brings topics pertinent to the East Texas operator. The proceeds have raised over $200\,000 to support The East Texas Oil Museum. Mark has been a champion of property rights and is a member of Houston Property Rights Association. He has advocated for more eco-friendly use of property\, spearheading the conversion of the neighborhood flood detention facility into a Naturescape transforming a neighborhood blight into an amenity.\nMark is on the Board of Cherry Tree Republicans and is Treasurer of the Cherry Tree Republican PAC. He coordinated a direct effort of a text campaign for 10 candidates for the 1st and 14th court of appeals in the 9 surrounding counties of Harris County\, in which ALL 10 justices won.\nAbout Perla Hopkins:\n\nPerla Hopkins is an AMERICA TEXAS FIRST CONSERVATIVE PATRIOT running to be your next Texas Lieutenant Governor. Perla serves as a speaker\, and as a volunteer policy and parental rights advocate. She’s an Air Force veteran and continued to serve our country in the role of military spouse for over 20 years. In 2010 she was presented with the Inaugural major command AETC Key Spouse of the Year Award in San Antonio.\nPerla has been married to retired Major Bart Hopkins for 25 years and they have raised 3 adult children. She holds three master’s degrees in education and has taught around the world including Leander ISD\, Texas. In 2021 Perla was the first Texas Mom to be kicked-out of her own children’s school board meeting. Perla took off her teacher hat\, and through numerous other unconstitutional experiences\, she has had to collaborate with state and federal legislators and officials since 2019. She has fought tirelessly to address the fentanyl crisis\, border security\, elimination of property taxes\, medical freedom\, human trafficking\, the obscenity exemption found in penal code 43.24\, and the eradication of CRT/DEI\, to name a few measures. In 2022\, Perla ran against a democrat incumbent for the State Board of Education (SBOE) District 5. She was unsuccessful due to a limited 3 month campaign; however\, over 237\,000 Texans cast their vote for her\, trusting in her leadership and calls-to-action approach. Perla is a champion for Texas families! She’s ready to serve again and to restore faith\, accountability\, and transparency in the Texas Senate.

SUMMARY:LTISD is ordering Library books!! Public Comments welcome!!
DESCRIPTION:Parents and Taxpayers… Let your voice be heard before the next SB meeting!\nTexas Senate Bill 13: Overview and Implementation\nSenate Bill 13 (SB 13) is a piece of legislation passed during the 89th Texas Legislature (2025–2026) that imposes new requirements on school libraries\, particularly concerning the acquisition and review of library materials. The bill focuses on increasing transparency and parental oversight in the selection of books and other resources available to students. \nThe law requires school districts to adopt policies for the acquisition and removal of library materials that align with state guidelines. \nSenate Bill 13 Public School Requirements from the TEA\nhttps://tea.texas.gov/texas-schools/school-boards/sb13-guidance.pdf \n  \n\n\n\n\nThe Lake Travis ISD School Library Advisory Council (SLAC) was established by the Board of Trustees to ensure that school libraries provide strong collections that support student achievement\, meet state standards\, and reflect community expectations. Meeting at least twice each year\, the SLAC works with librarians and district staff to develop a recommended list of library materials for procurement\, including donated titles. The Board reviews these recommendations\, considers any proposed changes\, and makes the final decision to approve or reject the materials. At least 30 days before the Board’s vote\, the proposed list is made publicly available for parents and community members to review. The SLAC also recommends procedures for handling challenges to library materials and reviews challenges according to law before making recommendations to the Board. This process helps ensure transparency\, parent involvement\, and a strong library program that strengthens student achievement while nurturing a lifelong appreciation\, habit and love of reading. \n\n\n\n\nProposed Library Materials for Review & Community Feedback\n\n\n\nProposed Titles for Library Procurement List\nOctober 15\, 2025: Proposed Titles for Library Procurement \nFeedback form for parents and taxpayers\nProposed Titles for Library Procurement Feedback Form\n\nFor questions or additional information regarding SLAC reviews or library material challenges\, please contact Tasha Barker\, watersbarkert@ltisdschools.org\, 512-533-6036. \n\n\n\n\n2025-26 SLAC Meetings\n\n\n\nSeptember 18\, 2025 | Agenda | Meeting minutes | Recording\nOctober 14\, 2025 | Agenda | Meeting minutes | Recording\nDecember 16\, 2025 | Agenda | Meeting minutes | Recording\nFebruary 17\, 2026 | Agenda | Meeting minutes | Recording\nMay 19\, 2026 | Agenda | Meeting minutes | Recording\n\n\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Lake Travis ISD Trustees ELECTION DAY!
DESCRIPTION:Lake Travis Independent School District (LTISD) will conduct its Board of Trustees election on May 3\, 2025. Voters can cast their ballots at any designated Vote Center in Travis County displaying the “Vote Here/Aquí” sign during both early voting and on Election Day. \n\n\n\n\nThis election cycle is critical—common sense\, transparency and truth are on the ballot for LTISD. \n In May 2024\, only 50% of registered voters turned out\, allowing radical leftist incumbents to stay in place to continue defending woke ideologies\, calling it “free speech.” The 2025 leftist candidates are even worse—one openly cringes at the idea that “boys turn into men\,” and the other claims to be a businessman while pushing overpriced “student housing” that exploits families and leaves low-income students behind. \nEven if you don’t have kids in LTISD\, YOUR PROPERTY TAXES fund 85% of the district’s budget. In 2023\, voters were hoodwinked into approving over $700 million in bonds\, and by 2024\, the board managed to create a $2.25 MILLION deficit. How’s that for managing your tax dollars? \nIt’s time to take off the rose-colored glasses. LTISD is not the “destination district” it pretends to be. Academic scores are below average\, bullying and drug use are rampant\, and accountability is nowhere to be found. We need transparency\, firm discipline\, and leaders who deliver results—not excuses. \nThe only incumbent in this election is the current President of the Board of Trustees—and her record speaks for itself. She’s got to go. \nLet’s elect new Trustees who will fight for truth\, transparency\, and real change—not the “go along to get along” mentality. \nOur kids—and our community—deserve better.

SUMMARY:Early Voting for LTISD School Board Trustee Elections
DESCRIPTION:This election cycle is critical—common sense\, transparency and truth are on the ballot for LTISD. \n In May 2024\, only 50% of registered voters turned out\, allowing radical leftist incumbents to stay in place to continue defending woke ideologies\, calling it “free speech.” The 2025 leftist candidates are even worse—one openly cringes at the idea that “boys turn into men\,” and the other claims to be a businessman while pushing overpriced “student housing” that exploits families and leaves low-income students behind and will push heavy DEI on our students. \nWe the People Lake Travis Endorse\nthese LTISD Trustee Candidates…\nPlace #3: Jessica Howard \nPlace #4: John Severance \nPlace #5: Craig Cancienne

SUMMARY:Candidate Forum Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce
DESCRIPTION:The Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce realizes it is an exciting time to be a part of the greater Lake Travis area! We continue to see both new challenges and new opportunities as economic growth around the Lake Travis area propels us forward. These times are dynamic and call for us to be more diligent in working together as we advocate for the needs of our business community. \nThe Lake Travis Chamber strives to be a fair\, insightful and impartial resource for voters in both elections. We encourage voters to educate themselves and to know your vote. \nThis year we have two candidate forums for Lake Travis ISD School Board and the Lakeway City Council. The decision was made based on venue availability\, moderator availability\, timekeeper availability\, Chamber staff availability\, and in consideration of the Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce event calendar. The Chamber will not host a candidate forum for uncontested races. \nAdvocacy is of utmost importance to the Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce\, the largest business association in the greater Lake Travis area. We represent nearly 400 members and thousands of jobs through our membership. Chambers of Commerce have authority under state and federal law to represent our members in public policy debates. We may lobby and take positions on actual or proposed legislation. Chambers may legally endorse candidates for public office and/or ballot propositions. \nThe Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce has historically not endorsed political candidates and will not be using this forum to do so.

Upon graduation\, Bob began his active duty as a Systems Engineer working to develop the Minuteman Missile System during the Cold War at Norton AFB in California\, where he achieved the rank of Captain. \nAfter the Air Force he worked in the Aerospace industry as a systems engineer and business development manager. In 1982 he left the corporate world and began working as an independent proposal consultant to aerospace and defense corporations. Then in 1984 he formed his own company\, Professional Proposal Management\, Inc. \nA compelling sense of duty\, shaped by his military service\, business experience\, and love for this country\, drives him to leave behind the legacy of a patriotic servant for his children and grandchildren. Envisioning their futures compelled him to become actively involved in the state’s political process and strongly believes it is time to stand in the gap for our children\, our liberties and our future.
