SUMMARY:Training for March 5th Primary- Travis County is hand counting mail-in ballots!
DESCRIPTION:The Texas Election Code grants both political parties additional liberties on election day of the Primary. Historically\, we have let Travis County dictate the terms of the election day contract. This year\, a small group of Republican precinct chairs negotiated new terms. They include:\nHand count mail in ballots\nRepublican controlled early vote signature verification\nReport of ballot style per registered voter\nReport of Results by voting center with County Comparison report\nDS200 Configuration reports with number of Voters.\nThese are “contract wins” and will give us more transparency into this year’s Primary. The hand counting will take many volunteers.
