SUMMARY:LTISD Monthly School Board Meeting
DESCRIPTION:In January 2023\, We the People started a campaign to combat the sexually explicit books in the LTISD libraries.  We started reading pages from various books in all grade levels every month.  In response\, the Board undertook a revision process of its book policy and parents started a challenge process of select books. This month at the November meeting\, the book policy and a parent’s final grievance on 3 books were finally placed on the agenda. \nThe new book policy will be voted on next month.  Please review the old and new policy at the link below and comment to the Board at leadership@ltisdschools.org. Linked below pages 80-96. \nIn addition\, the parent at #9 of video presented to the entire Board.  Her presentation was flawless. The Board voted in favor of the parent to move or remove the books and reversed the District with a vote of 5:2 on three books\, with Lauren White and Phil Davis voting to retain the challenged books including Bodies Are Cool\, Speak and I Never.  You can find the links to the relevant content HERE. \nNOVEMBER 2023 Boardbook
