SUMMARY:Austin Republican Women's Monthly Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:https://austinrepublicanwomen.org/rsvp/ \nGuest Speaker: Christi Craddick\, Chairman Texas Railroad Commission \n \nChairman Christi Craddick of the Texas Railroad Commission joins us February 9 as guest speaker at our luncheon meeting. Craddick\, who in December was elected chairman of the Commission by fellow commissioners\, is now serving her fourth term of office. It was 2012 when she first won a state-wide election to serve on the Commission which has primary regulatory jurisdiction over the oil and natural gas industry and stewards Texas’s natural resources and the environment. \nDuring her tenure on the Commission\, Craddick has pushed to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of an energy industry that is driving the state’s unparalleled economic success. She has repeatedly proven that sensible regulations\, careful listening and plain talk can foster the kind of innovation that has solidified Texas leadership in the energy sector. She has made it a top priority to educate the public about the oil and gas industry and its impact on Texas. She has fought against Washington’s one-size-fits-all environmental policies. \nA native of Midland\, Tex.\, who earned both a bachelor’s degree and a doctorate of jurisprudence from The University of Texas at Austin\, Craddick during her law career specialized in oil and gas\, water\, tax issues\, electric deregulation and environmental policy. She is now at the forefront of the newest wave of conservative leadership in Texas where she has set a clear standard of integrity\, self-reliance and innovation in her position on the Commission. \n$45 per person \nAs with everything else\, food and labor costs have risen. ARW charges the cost of the lunch and does not make a profit. \nRSVP by Friday\, February 3
