DESCRIPTION:We the People expect our Public Schools to work for the taxpayers\, the parents and the children in this community. Continuing to act like a big government entity is not in the best interest of the people. Please vote No and ask them to bring us a better Bond package!! \nBONDage on the Ballot\nThere will be a three-part $703 million dollar bond on our November ballot.  We the People cannot support the bond propositions because (1) there was no transparency as to bids\, projected operation costs and expected overruns; (2) there is a lack of fiscal responsibility with regard to a wishlist as opposed to a needs-based analysis; and (3) the absence of a return on education and cost/benefit for each line item.  Please direct our neighbors to LTISDtransparency.org for more information. \nWe formed a PAC to raise awareness on the current bonds.  You will see our signs soon.  If you want to donate to this effort\, please donate HERE.  If you already donated\, thank you!  Superintendent Norton is making a bond presentation on Monday\, October 10th at 5pm at High Five.  Please review the LTISDtransparency.org and ask the hard questions like: \n1. Since 5 of the 7 elementary schools are hundreds under capacity\, wouldn’t it be more prudent to rezone the elementary boundaries rather than spend $105M on 2 new elementary campuses? \n2.  Is it possible to put a second high school in its own bond proposition\, so the voters can decide that issue without agreeing to all the other items in prop A that the voters may not want? \n3.  Why are ALL the closing costs for the $703M dollar package in proposition A?  What if propositions B&C don’t pass\, how will the voters realize a reduced fee if they are all added in prop A? \nOur recommendation would be to wait until election day on November 8th but if you cant… please find the time in this window.

SUMMARY:Public Safety Day- BACK THE BLUE
DESCRIPTION:This day gives the public a chance to interact with first responders on a level that does not involve an emergency situation and to learn about what they do and the tools and resources they use to keep you\, your family\, your pets and your property safe. Agencies from across Central Texas typically will bring their helicopters\, police cars\, motorcycles\, ambulances\, fire trucks\, rescue boats\, ATVs\, K-9’s\, horses\, wildland fire mitigation equipment\, incident command centers\, SWAT apparatus\, casualty tents and buses\, and much\, much more. There are also activities for the kids\, along with live music. We hope you can join us! Hosted in the Parking lot at Lake Travis Elementary School.
